Bob Barker would like this one. Can you guess the price of these two items?
Item #1 is a nice red wine, straight from the Bordeaux region of France.
Item #2 is a package of soft flour tortillas. Both were purchased at the grocery store down the street from us.
Hint: One item cost 3.75 Euro.
If you guessed that the wine was more expensive than the tortillas....you were wrong!
Those tortillas set us back 3.75 ($4.88), while the wine (which is quite good!) was only 1.99 ($2.59). The cost of beer and wine here never ceased to surprise us. Not surprisingly, tortillas are a 'luxury' import unless you manage to score some barely expired packages at the fleamarket for 0.50 like a did a few weeks ago.
